Commitment
This site is built to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification and other assistive technology. We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This statement is a self-assessment, not an independent audit, and it will be updated as the site changes.
What is implemented
Semantic structure. Headings follow a logical order, landmarks identify page regions, and lists, tables and forms use appropriate elements rather than styled substitutes.
Keyboard access. Interactive controls are reachable by keyboard. A skip link at the top of each page jumps to main content. A visible focus indicator is provided for keyboard focus.
Contrast. Text and interactive elements are checked against AA contrast requirements. Colour is not the only means of conveying information.
Reduced motion. Decorative motion is suppressed when the operating system requests reduced motion.
Text alternatives. Informative images carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
Responsive layout. Content reflows to 320 pixels and supports zoom to 200% without loss of function. Wide content such as data tables scrolls within its own container rather than forcing the page sideways.
Data tables. Specification and comparison tables use proper header associations so screen readers announce row and column context.
Known limitations
Age gate. The age confirmation dialog traps focus until an answer is given and does not close on Escape. That is intentional: the gate is a compliance control, not a dismissible overlay.
Desktop navigation. Primary-nav dropdowns open on hover and keyboard focus. Parent items expose expanded state to assistive technology, but the pattern is not a full disclosure widget with explicit open/close buttons.
Long data tables. The research hub table is wide and requires horizontal scrolling on small screens. The same data is available in a linear form on individual monograph pages.
Sequence strings. Long peptide sequences are presented as continuous monospace text and can be verbose when read aloud character by character.
PDF documents. Certificates of Analysis are supplied as PDFs generated by analytical instrument software, and their accessibility is limited by that source. If you need the contents of a certificate in an accessible format, ask and we will provide it directly.
Reporting a barrier
If something on this site is not usable for you, tell us. Include the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using if relevant.
We aim to respond within five business days. Where a fix is straightforward we make it promptly; where it is not, we will tell you what we are doing and offer the information you needed by another route in the meantime.
